I'm new to this board and this is my 1st post. I have an MZ1000S which I logged about 5500 miles on it so far. I love the bike and haven't had any problems until now. I got a burnt out coil and with the recent closing of MZ North America in Daytona Beach, FL I am finding it hard to find any dealers that stock parts. Does anyone on here know any dealers that could help me get parts? I'm hoping that I won't have to be sidelined for too long. I have a few people looking into whether they can obtain them for me but I need reliable parts access. HELP! lol. Cheers.

Where have you been all this time? Welcome to the board.....There seems to be only a few other 1000 owners that post here, I was wondering how many others are here in the U.S. myself. It appears that for the time being getting parts will require a wait, as I "Assume" that the new system will take time to set-up and get it running smoothly. We're in a black hole maybe for now? But I've been looking into finding sources in Germany as a way to get parts now (hopefully). There is a dealer in England that has shipped parts to the U.S.....they're listed on one of the posts somewhere here. I think that will be your best bet...and probably won't take but a weeks to get them. If you have'nt already, check out the MZ 1000 yahoo group. Mostly a links list to all things 1000 and most importantly a growing database for parts interchanges for consumables such as brake pads, sprockets, oil filters, spark plugs, batteries, among other stuff etc....There are plenty of options right now for those. Check it out: http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/MZ1000/

Oh thanks a ton! I'll look into that. I have two oil filters right now because I bought extras when I 1st got the bike. I managed to get two more from a dealer in Texas. I'm good for about 9k miles more with the oil filters for now. But I ride the bike a lot. A lot of the parts are interchangeable with other bikes like brake pads, sprockets, and spark plugs but I'm sidelined cause I need a coil and I don't think that part usually fouls out. I'm going to check that British supplier you mentioned cause someone else mentioned them. Wondering if it is exclusive or maybe another coil would work in my bike. I been to MZ in Daytona and met Jens the parts guy from Germany once. I used to work for an MZ dealer that closed down in Jan. of '05 for like 5 years so I got the bike for cost. I just found out about this website recently but glad to have found it. Thanks for the advice - it's a lot more I had to work with than before.
