I know that we are all gearheads at heart, so what other mechanical devices bring you pleasure?

here are a couple of mine. 1st is my US spec 1985 Merkur (Ford Sierra) Xr4Ti. It currently has a 2.3 OHC with a T3 Turbo, Sierra Cosworth 2wd intercooler, Ford Thunderbird Turbocoupe ECU and Air meter, full suspension mods. approx 240BHP.Next is the Sierra Cosworth wheel arches, with my custom Mk3 VW front bumper (the US front Bumper is hideous!)

also is a picture of my family camping setup. it is a 1972 Chrysler Town and Country station wagon towing a 1972 German Built Tabbert Camper. Toured Yellowstone this summer with the family!

I also have a corvair, and a few bikes, I shall dig up some photos.

OMG! A Sierra XR4i, dude those cars were screamed about all over the place over here in the uk, didn't even realise they made them for the US market. Most of them are dead and burried over here but i remember when they came out, an old-school 4x4 car, amazing to see you have one, my mates used to rag those cars senseless years ago! Great stuff!

I rememember the XR4i because a fiend replaced some chassis parts on one, took it ot for a test ride. When he got back the panic started, teh one he took out was a 2.9 litre and because he was under 25 the companies insurance only covered him for up to 2 litre Shocked
He mad a right mes of it he did Smile
A a go in a Siera Cosworth Turbo once, geeze what a motor
I still think I will spend my money on 2 wheels though.
Wonky, as you live in Essex, I am not suprised you saw a lot of these flying around Very Happy

me i camp with the bike a couple times a year
and my other weakness is ham radio but do not spend much money on it
unlike some of my radio friends i keep radios for years
wife has license also so we text message channel numbers and use the radio
to talk and save $ on the cell phone bill

current project is a velomobile electric assisted recumbent bicycle
google search velomobile or same word in search here on mzriders site

and rebuild my spair rt125 motor to the point it is a drop in spair ..
longblock complete engine

yeah, it is a great car, the US version is 2wd only, they did not import the 4wd into the states. The cosworth 16v engine never made it also, we got the iron block/head 8valve, turbo with no intercooler. with the mods I have done, it is a little better HP than a stock cossie. We do have a local tuner that imports the cossie motor, and hapily gets them in the 350-400BHP range!!!

Since I was born in england, I have always lusted after a nice english car as a daily driver. this is as close as I can get. I was born in 1970, and when I was 15-17, the Sierra RULED the touring classes, and the rallye scene.

Had a Cossie Sapphire some years ago, but sold it as I never used it. Then came a Saab 9000 2.3 turbo, which blew the Cossie away-big turbo, uprated suspension and brakes, etc. Could spin the wheels just flooring it in 3rd. But far too much for the missus to handle, so sold it. Since then, cars have been quite a low priority to own. Rather spend my money on bikes (and alimoney Evil or Very Mad) now.

Still, Essex boy that I am, I still own an Essex Boy car. Immaculate inside and out, full AMG kit, leather and air con, all for £300. I just love old cars.

dated 6 years ...so on oct 17 2006 we had been at it 26 years total

but she loves her 1992 nissan truck 185,000 miles and it only laid down on her once

hi,

I, too, have other interests, apart from the Skorpion - and apart from my profession as organ and intrument maker.
http://www.william-jurgenson.com

Who would have guessed - I have other motorcycles:
2 1954 F.B.Mondial 200SS - very rare one of which is restored and running
http://www.zabernet.de/bill/Mondial.html
a 1954 BSA A7 unrestored and in good late 60ies cafe racer state in which I intend to keep it and register it next spring
http://www.zabernet.de/bill/graphiken/twowheels/BSA.jpg

a 1962 F.B.Mondial SSV4 in original unrestored state and running - I use it occasionally.
a 1974 Motobi 250
http://www.zabernet.de/bill/graphiken/twowheels/motobi.jpg

and the real prize:
a 1986 Bimota DB1SR, one that has always been raced and was used in the BOT. I ran it this year for the first time in 15 years, mostly testing save for one hill climb.
http://www.zabernet.de/bill/graphiken/twowheels/bill_bimota.jpg

You can find some pictures and other stuff on my SOS homepage:
http://www.zabernet.de/bill/tuning.html

and then there are the historic cars and restoration thereof with which I am involved.
see:
http://www.appel-tooling.com

and here attached is one from my private archive, an original press release photo of which I own the original 4x5 transparency which I inherited. I am old enuf: I remember the release well.
Let's see if any one here can guess what it is.
