I've just had all the mock up plastics dropped off at work today. I can't wait to get stuck into trying them on my bike. I'm really excited as i've got a huge bag of plastics made for me to cut about with. Once the final designs have been decided then the Carbon can be made....watch this space!!!!!

I promise you that once they are finished you guys will have a sneak preview. I need to cut them about first so that they can be replicated from Carbon. Sorry to tease but at least if you want some you can get a healthy discount once they are made, should you want them.

Some people have been asking about my front brake on my bike. I feel i may have posted that it is a Husaberg 6-pot caliper, it is NOT a direct fitment and you need to make a bracket for it. I can supply dimesions if you want to replicate mine or i can make you one for about £40. I use an R6 front master cylinder and an early model R6 wavey disc. Hope this helps...

Got a feeling i might have posted some-where, be it here or visordown, that the Husaberg 6-pot is a direct fit, OOPS! You need a bracket...

A huge difference in stopping power!!!!

I'm a little bit disapointed with the power of the std front brake.

How easy are Husaberg 6 pots to come by??

Yeh the standard brake lacks power when pulling through the travel, they seem to fade off a bit and i found them even worse when in the wet. Since the upgrade i have no worries at all. It's a shame things like this aren't developed enough by MZ as standard. I'm sure many people will justify buying other brands over MZ purely because of the components that they offer as standard. I can source the Husaberg 6-Pot calipers for you. Will get a price on Monday and post reply for you.

What I cannot understand is that the brake set up ion my Sport was the same (Albeit with the caliper and disc mounted on the right hand side) but would lock rthe wheel up at will, and was easy doing stoppies. Why different on the Baggi-longer brake hose, softer suspension, different weight and geometry? Just seemed weird.

Have a 4-pot VFR caliper and bracket going on (off of a friends Mastiff, so i know how well it worked) at some time- Come on, I've only had it 15 months.

Love to see the plasics you have being made-anmy change that there will be a production run of sorts? Any idea on costs for future sets?

Once i have decided on a suitable look for my bike then i will be able to give you price for Glass Reinforced Plastics and Carbon. Currently we can get the same front guard as mine in Carbon which was made for the KTM's but also fits the MZ's. Looks great and really does improve on that fat wedge of a standard front guard on the Baghira. You can lose the lower down front guard on the Mastiff and mount higher on the bottom yolk as they have the same 4 mounting holes as the Baghira. The ride height on the Mastiff is only slightly lower than the Baghira but poses no problems with fitment. The guys that do our Carbon race tanks and plastics for our Supermono bikes are extremely helpful and are working with me to get something completed within the next few weeks so bare with me for a while and i will be sure to let you know as soon as we have something finished. I have still a ton of work with a few websites and our online shopping system but i intend on working late this week to work out the best way to get these plastics to fit. I have a great bellypan that i'm hoping i can get to fit my Baggy, not sure if i'll have this in Carbon yet as it might have to be really thick to resist stones, etc from the front wheel. Obviously the thicker the carbon the more expesive it gets and due to the Super Plane A360 or whatever it is that was having its wings built over here in Wales the price of Carbon has gone through the roof. I will keep you guys/girls posted once i have worked out the best route to take, i want to keep this project as approachable as possible for the public market-place to be able to afford the custom parts and not cost another bike on top of the one you already have. We don't get that much room to move on prices with carbon products especially with the moulds having to be made. Using moulds from other bikes and shifting bits about may be the best option. I also have a rear hugger that i am going to fit this week and see how that works out. The rear end i'm thinking about really styling up but not too sure how to play it yet, don't want to rush this as it has to be done right!!!

As for the brakes on the MZ's it is weird how some bikes seem to be fine and people don't seem to have issues, whilst others seem to lack stopping power. Maybe it's personal requirements, i really don't know! What i can say is that using the Husaberg 6-Pot has fat skills. No worries other than flat spots on the front tyre when you skid the front wheel some-times, feels good though....

Carbon bodywork !! You are certainy pushing the boat out on this one ....and why not. I like the idea of a rear hugger as i never ride off road, just a roundabout / backroad terrorist (probably just been flashed on some MI6 / CIA snooper computer for using that phrase!!). I may even try to fit some cast wheels (cos carbon would be well ot of my league) at some point so I can easily run tubeless tyres ....besides I think the baggy would look cool with some three spokes. While i am in daydream mode does anybody know whether the SZR Belgardia banana arm is a feasable swap on a baggy? Just saw one on ebay a short while ago and got to thinking. From the photos the mounting points 'look' the same but no idea about length etc.

I have fitted an Acerbis supermoto front guard on my Mastiff (removing the lower guard & brace.
The only problem I encountered was the fact that the Mastiff has a steep steerer/head tube (steeper than the Baggy) and you have to mount the fender out a bit further otherwise it will hit the frame between the rads.
It looks waaaay better than the standard set up, especially with the cut down rad panels and a fork mounted headlight which meant I got rid of all that scaffolding at the front

The Husaberg front brake on the later models is a 6 pot Beringer and everything i have heard suggests that they are awesome. There is a UK distributor www.beringerbrakes.co.uk knocking them out at around the £350 mark. Harrison Billet also do direct fitment 6 pot for the Mastiff at around that price.

What for clamps (Gabelbrücken) and fork do you use? ...Boah, I can´t stop looking at your fork....! What happened to the engine? Everything stock?

Slipstream has had built the MZ Supermono World Championchip racer too, right?

All i can say is there will be a full review coming out soon. I know it sounds a bit nobby but i have some people in the bike industry that are helping me out and have spoken to me regarding a first hand review of the bike. Untill then i am sworn to secrecy, all i can say is...yes we have one of only 5 Original MZ Skorpion Factory race-bikes ever made, after two years development Martin Sweet (Founder of Slipstream and my boss) took it to the supermon championships in 2000 and took the title, i look at that bike every day, its my daily fix of bike pornography! Its beautiful...

The bike puts out 80BHP on a bad day and boasts the same XT660 engine that many of us tear about on today, trouble is this badboy has had a tad under 4 and a half grand spent on it and has been developed into an amazing mix of power. Imagine this on an MZ Baghira? Now how nuts would that be????

The forks are OHLINS with custom made yolks, lovely ride!!!!

Wonky, you are a first class Bast***!! Bought my Baggi and found that apart from the motor, there was very little oppotunity to cover it with aftermarket bling, or change anything too much. A cheap SM then

Then you come along, and all this talkof carbon bodywork, Ohlins USD forks, GPS dampers, huggers etc turns that on its head. And all thanks to the inginuiety of yourself and Slipstream. You will empty my wallet faster that my ex missus Shocked

Any change of posting a photo or two of the MZ racer (was this the one of the ones that Elliot Burgess rode?), as i remember seeing it in all it's green and white glory in the Supermono championship.

Will pop over ibn a couplke of weeks-just hold those wheels! And any date in mind for your suggested MZ meet at Slipstream (or anywhere else)? Need to know as far in advance as possible, as work Shocked fills up my diary quite quickly!
