I have the same rack, but mine didn't come with that extra bracket. Could it be for side bag mounts?
You got it off eBay right? I saw it on there and was thinking of bidding on it just to have another one, but decided against it. You got a GREAT price! |

Yep, got it off ebay. I've been all over the bike looking for a fit for the part, to no avial. I don't even know if it was ment for a Mastiff.

It could possably be a baghira part (or not even for a mz). It won't match up to anything I can find on a Mastiff. It looks like the same construction and finish as the rack. I just hate to toss it in the scrap or recycle bin if it's a $75 part that will fit my bike or a baggy.

I missed bidding. I paid $130 plus for the same rack from euro.. this spring. I installed it on my 04 baggy. That bracket did not come with my rack. You got a great buy on ebay for $43! I might suggest that you ise stainless steel eye bolts to bolt ot to the frame at the rear two mount points. They help to tie bungies down. |

Hi
I'm new to this list I have an 01 Baghira.
I also saw this rack on ebay and I think this part is to tie the bag racks together. The guy mentioned he was liquidating a dealer. It would be a shame if the rack got seperated from the bag racks because you can't mount the bag racks without the tail rack.I have a set of H-P bag racks on my DR350 and thats the way they mount. That piece probably goes up under the fender and the bag mounts attach on either side .It gives some rigidity to the sub frame.Thats my guess .

That is a likely location for it. I'm going to put it in my shop inventory in case I ever need it.
thanks to all,
