|
|
So far i have personally confirmed the following parts to be suitable as replacements:
Battery:
Yuasa 12N9-3A-1 -
Perfect size wise/exact replacement.
The included bolts are a little too wide, and some ring cutting may be required.
CCA rating of 80 is somewhat low.
Yuasa YB9L-A2 -
Much like the battery mention above, but with a higher CCA rating.
CCA rating of 124.
Yuasa YB10L-A2 -
The BEST possible replacement confirmed so far.
CCA rating of 160.
Dimensions are larger than that of the batteries mentioned above, but fit has been confirmed perfect (no modifications are necessary atleast on the 125SM - and SX presumably - )
Please feel free to add your own experiences with compatible parts.

hello
the rt125 replacement is interstate batteriies M3210Y = YB10L-A2
this one will crank it when it's COLD it's a tight fit
some modifycation to the side cover needed but not major
mod. details and pictures on request
i had to trim about 3 or 4 mm off of the bottom edge of the plastic
side cover and took a hair drier and removed the black cover from
the ori battery and stuck it on the new one the wires on mine were a bit
tight but will work
please note if you have trouble starting with this battery
on my bike i had a bad starter relay it clicks sounds like low battery
but relay not passing current to starter so no cranking
I HAVE HEARD THAT THIS RELAY IS KNOWN TO STICK IN THE ON
POSITION SO IT MAY BE A GOOD IDEA TO FIX SOME WAY TO DISCONNECT THE MINUS POST OF THE BATTERY IN A HURRY
TO KEEP IT FROM WRECKING THE BATTERY AND STARTER
ANYONE WHO HAS HAD THIS HAPPEN EMAIL ME
wd8cyv@yahoo.com
starter relay all 125cc MZ
yamaha relay part number 4KD-81940-00
is a direct plug in replacement on my mz rt125 about $28 usd at
aftermarket atv shop
it may also work on your mz or ujm
unhook battery when changing _________________ Dave 2002 MZ RT125+95 Saxon Tour in WV USA "I like the road less traveled if it's PAVED!."

the YB10L-A2 is practically a drop-in.
NO MODIFICATIONS are necessary what so ever for it to fit in my 125SM.
infact due to the terminals location and type, it is actually esier to install the wires to them _________________ 2002 MZ 125SM |

Uhh thanks for all your advise... hehe it would be the best advise...
anyway i going to buy the Yuasa YB10L-A2 battery.. coz mine are really dead now... my battery terminal heads always corrodes and im keep trying to put greese and battery greese but corrosion keeps going on till the battery terminal worn off so any idea to eliminate the problem?
on my second discovery, i found that it is best to fit a battery breaker on the bike. i fixed a 40amp ELCB and its ok... so everytime that i dont ride my bike i will trip it off so that my battery wont die easily and for safe wise it is great coz if anything happen eg: relay sticking, u can just trip it without any hassle...... if u need any good battery cables with connectors pls let me know.. i can get for u real cheap about USD10 only for grounding and to the relay with copper connectors and it's a quality cable..
email me @t mxsteven@gmail.com if you want any photo... sorry for missing quite some time coz now started to get busy on my job.
regards
mxsteven

Thanks guys - I just fitted a Yuasa YB10L-A2 to mine, as the original
one had died.
It fits fine into my SM125, but is slightly wider, so the battery now touches the plastic side panel, which it did not before.
No more running jumps to start the bike! |
