Price for a nice Baggy?

My bike is being ficked - se other posting on spokes so when I needed a bike this weekend I though I was stuffed

After a lot of thinking,begging and promising, I did get to borrow a Fireblade, and the long and the short of it is I've decided to sell the Baggy.

What is the going rate for these in the UK?

I was thinking about £2.2K or so.

Its an 03 with 4K km on the clock. I have a picture somewhere and when I have it to hand I'll put it in the classifieds!

Just had my Baggy serviced at philip Youles in Blackburn

Noticed two yellow Baggys both at £2000 + £50 for documents etc
Although on thier website they are listed at £2500

Bit gutted that's all they're worth
Still could always buy a second

The handling on the Baggy is as good as the Blade - It might even be better - but I do more long distance than I thought I did so when I do end up going somewhere its hard work keeping the bike at 85-90 mph for more than 20-30 odd miles!

not doing anything until I get my bike back and go for another ride just to make sure!!

buy a nice classic touring bike for the 2 trips a year you would use it, and make it an adventure. my touring bike is a 1964 Honda 305 Dream. It goes 60mph, hauls lots of stuff, and gets 65-70 MPG.

DON'T SELL IT!
1. They are worth little secondhand. BUT, in a few years when the only Baggys around are high mileage etc, you will regret it. I bought mine new from a dealer at a knockdown price on ebay but even if I got a profit on it now, I would not sell it - I know I will likely not buy another new bike while my kids are still costing me money and by the time they are paying for me, there won't be bikes like the Baghira.

2. The answer is to buy the 1000SF advertised on this site - at least ride a 1000 - they are terrific apparently. That will do your long distance work and you can tell the wife/girlfriend that the Baghira is worthless and just to be used for local commuting etc. Then you can take it out secretly and have loads of fun - a bit like most aspects of some married lives eh?!

Horses for courses.- one bike won't do it all so TREAT yourself.
I run an '85 Guzzi Cali 2 for the touring stuff (complete with trailer for the wifes curlers/makeup/shoes). '98 Firestorm (with added bits) for the hurry-up stuff. '89 CBR400 Tri-arm coz it revs like a stroker and an 02 Baggie for the local stuff.
Get the a Blade but keep the MZ.

I have about 30 hours in the refinish on those bags. They pop up on e-bay every once in a while.

keep your eye open for some accesory lower leg wind guards. I have only seen 1 pair for a dream, would like to have a set!

so you like the "Camp Cooler" works real well, and it will keep your beer cold too!

My wheel came back, so I will be on my bike next weekend.

I am not going to do anything for the time being - I've just had to spend a few hundred on getting both cars through their MOT (legal roadworthyness test in the UK) so any money I would have had for part ex is gone!

Its also not as nice weather anymore so the Baggy's going to be in its element!

Thanks for all the great ideas but I have tried to run two bikes before and I don't like it. I find I learn all about one bike,then have to unlearn it to get the best out of the other bike!!

At least with the cars, they are so different that its only the placement of the indicator which bugs me when I change vehicle!!
