My stock battery YTX7LBS is about to give out. I would like a maintence free version of this battery.

YT and YI batteries are maintenance free. The X indicates that its a high performance battery. They are often refered to as Gel batteries. They are AGM batteries which stands for Absorded Glass Mat.
Did something happen to lead you to believe it wasn't maintenance free? These batteries will lose a charge the same as any other battery. And they do eventually wear out. (I don't know if "wear out" is the correct term since its not a moving part but you know what I mean)

Thanks. I realize that number is the number I am looking for and is not the battery I have in the bike now. The battery in the bike now has the indvidual caps to check and add water. When I bought the bike it was not showing any water. I filled it and it took a charge but I think it is on its last cells. _________________ 2002 MZ Bagihira Street Moto
