| Does anyone know if there is a lever out there that has more offset to reduce the span that it takes to grab the lever. I find that my hand is stretched out to the point the tip of my fingers are operating the lever .An adjustable lever would be great but cannot find one that fits the Grimeca master cylinder. |

hello guys
having a problem finding front brake levers for my saxon tour and rt125
both use same lever a grimeca unit may not be same as yours
I CAN NOT FIND IT IN THE USA USED ON ANY OTHER BIKE
so its time to ask phil at BSA 
he maybe able to fix you up
i have one on my shopping list for next parts order as a road spair
if you hear a loud scream coming from my area of WV USA you will know
i have ordered MZ parts and got the bill 
i have a spair 125cc motor in need of many missing parts
and none of them cheap

The first thing I did was ask Phil. He did not have a solution. I have a Nissin unit with an adjustable lever. I did not put it on yet but it might be the only solution.

be careful of the piston size in the replacement unit as it may not
put the brakes on the same as the old one
yes some time size does matter
i was looking at a ducati 620 monster the other day
brake unit from one of those may work if piston size correct
and custom levers my fit it
and it looks simular to my rt125 but not a grimeca if i remember correct
ar dave
or check out a bmw recycler some thing from the past may fit
remember the r90s 74 75 has a different gear and twist ferrel for the delortho carb
so may work better if you do this as it pulls the cable farther
and may fit almost all bmw models
the dog leg lever from 76 and later fits back to at least 74 maybe farther

IT IS IMPERITIVE THAT YOU ENSURE ANY REPLACEMENT LEVER HAS THE CORRECT SIZE PIN THAT PUSHES THE PISTON IN THE MASTER CYLINDER. EVEN IF THE PIN IS SLIGHTLY OUT OF SHAPE, LENGTH, ETC THIS CAN CAUSE CONTACT ON THE MASTER CYLINDER EVEN WITHOUT PRESSURE ON THE LEVER BY YOUR OWN FINGERS. THIS WILL INEVITABLY CAUSE THE CALIPER PISTONS TO SLOWLY PUSH OUT AND CAN "GRAB" THE DISC THROWING YOU AND THE BIKE INTO A TARWAR...BE VERY CAREFUL. PLEASE!!!
You can fit Yamaha master cylinder to your bike which would solve your problem! |
