Hello,

I just recently installed a Mikuni HSR-42 on my 96 Skorpion Sport. Aside from a little time and thought needed to dial the thing I'm happy with the upgrade. Althought I am having problems with fumes in my helmet. Turns out the crankcase breather hose has no place to go after I removed the stock airbox. Any suggestions as to how can eliminate this fumes problem.

Thanks,

Alejandro

You should fit a filter to the end of the hose to keep debris/insects/samll animals from invading your crankcase...

and you can use a catch-can and/or re-route/add length to the tubing to put the opening in a location where you won't hafta breathe it... but that's why they were originally vented to the airbox - so the engine would burn those vapors and not just vent them (not like I'm an EPA-nazi or anything).

thanks for the advice about using filter at the end of the crankcase hose. I actually tried it and it looks good, only I'm still getting fumes when sitting at the light. I will try extending the crankcase hose so that it comes out behind the engine a little further. As for burning the fumes after being rerouted to the airbox. I never thought about that but it makes sense.

Thanks,
Alejandro

P.S. Inspections! Whats that. I stopped doing it since I hate going to the local Harley shop only to feel like I'm not worthy. Maybe next time I'll go to the friendlier Triumph dealer since they seem enjoy bikes of all makes.

we do the inspection here because the fine for no insp sticker
is about 200 bucks and then he hits the bike for every thing he can find
if he doesnt like you
one guy had over 700 bucks in fines after they got done with him
but i think the cop screwed up the guy is worth several million
and sued the cop and the judge
