Hi,
My bike idles erratically and is always on the verge of stalling. This means I have to set the idle speed higher than the 1800 rpm recommended.
There is petrol in the overflow pipe and some slight leakage from the float bowl gasket.
Would excess petrol in the float bowl cause a problem with idleing?
I have done the following to try to trace the problem
1/ Cleaned the carb out 3 times.
2/ Put in a new air mix adjust screw and 'O' ring.
3/ Checked the float height with a digital caliper-It is correct at 20mm.
4/Put dye in the petrol to try to trace leaks, this only confirmed that some petrol was leaking from the float bowl.
I am now contemplating bending the float valve mounting plate VERY slightly
so that the fuel shuts off a little earlier. What do people think, and does anyone have any experience of this problem.
Thanks
David. _________________ Bikes:2006 RT125

try setting it a bit light like 18mm
and check the choke cable and choke valve.. the brass thing on top right front of carb for sticking
my choke was stuck once
also keep gas tank as clean as you can ..
this motor sips gas so gets real upset at any bad stuff
i missed the word new in the title line...
at less than 3000 miles you may have to idle it a bit toward 2000rpm
and tach may be off a bit also _________________ Dave 2002 MZ RT125+95 Saxon Tour in WV USA "I like the road less traveled if it's PAVED!."
