Anyone have any experience taking off the California emmision stuff on a 2003 Baghira? I'm in Texas and it ain't required here. I am curious on power increase and if I can put it back on if needed? Thanx!

Mine is an `02 model - and the only 'california emissions' stuff was the charcoal-cannister that was mounted on the left side of the engine. it's connected with rubber-tubing to the vents for the tank and float-bowl - i just ran the tubing from the float-bowl into the little hole in the airbox 9bottom, left side, front) and I used a ty-wrap to secure the vent-hose for the tank alongside the front brake line (I snipped it short so it hangs right about the level of the lower triple-clamp). The little "T' fitting and cannister itself are in a cardboard box in my garage in case I ever find a use for it (filter for a fish-tank perhaps?).

hello

if you take off the smog stuff be sure to save it and a drawing
of how to put it back

as time goes on you may need to put it back to pass local
smog laws at yearly inspections

when i got my rt125 inspected last year the guy said
not to loose any thing i took off as the boy's in the state capital
said that it would cause bikes to fail insp in about 5 to 8 years
as the laws change
and be nice if you sell the bike give the stuff to the next guy
as he may be in CA and need it
