Hi, just wanted to check in as a new member.
I picked up a 01 Sport Cup a couple of weeks ago With 1500 Miles on it. Man this is a sweet bike. Of course coming from a 81 yam 400 almost anything would be sweet. Any advice on how to spank this pup? _________________ 01 Sport Cup

Looking everywhere in the UK for one of these. Loads of stuff for these-cams, big bore and carbs seem to be where to start spending your filthy lucre.
I have a very, very scruffy but mechanically perfect tour which is in the (long) process of being tricked up, thanks to a former racing mate who has loads of bits, incuding a TZ front end and Ohlins rear shock.
Thinking of keeping it looking like shite, just adding some HUGE MZ stickers to embarrass the poor suckers who take the piss. _________________ 2004 Baghira

Whysub, you are a very cruel man..... Those sportbike riders deserve more respect
Still, its the same on the SMs when they dont realise what they are up against |

Can you translate "take the piss" into American?
You lost me on that one.
I trust it has nothing to do with urinating. _________________ 01 Sport Cup

I supose I should leave it to Whysub as he posted it, but basically it means , taking liberties, or trying to show someone up.. eg by thrashing past them on a sports bike. Can't think of a direct 'Americanism' but over here we all know what it means |

Thanks!
I'll leave that type of riding to the suicidal. _________________ 01 Sport Cup

Too take the piss in the UK means to make fun of or to shw them up. One way of `taking the piss' is to overtake a fast sportsbike like an R1 on a corner.

Precisely. Even better when this is done on a really rubbish bike. My Kawasaki GT550 was superb at going around the outside/inside of sportsbikes on a few roads I know.
Shame they just blasted me into the weeds once we got onto the straight! _________________ 2004 Baghira
