Defnitely gas in the oil. Figgured out real quick how to drain the oil, then
proceded to run 10 quarts of cheep oil thru the system to get it really
clean, 6 full oil changes later and wow... Shocked Oil everywhere!

We narrowed down the culprit real quick, it was the Charcoal Canister.
Where the center hose connects to the steel canister at the nub, for lack
of a better term, was a bit rusted. It was plugged and had a little
condensation in it. We Poked the rust and blew out the rest with
compressed air, which blew out a bunch of gas.

The Clog in the Canister somehow forced gas into the engine... Someone explain that one. Or better yet. how to take that wole BS assembly out. Which holes to plug / vent and all that... Very Happy

We also removed the cheezy air intake cover/tubes.

The lil' MZ runs smooth now, it only has 163 miles on her, not even broke
in. I was able to get about 10 miles in around the neighborhood, damn
cold in Oklahoma on Sunday. The bike reminded me of my ol' Honda
GT650 Hawk. Tourque down low and really easy to whip around. Great
handling bike. It seemed to have no guts though, I had to remind myself
that i was used to about 120 RWHP...and then reality set in....

...Gotta build this motor!!! I'd be happy to get 75 hp out of this motor, that should be about right....

The plan is to break in the motor and chassis first, Getting to know the bike and what it needs. Only then will we start breaking the bike down
and do the COOLEST REBUILD TO A MZ SKORPION KNOWN TO MAN!!!!

We go to get funding for this project on Sunday Morning over coffee.
Lets just hope that our little proposal of spending 7k up to 15k on this bike
is going to work!

yea, i know i promised pics.... Embarassed

I have a similar plan for my Skorpion. Looking for about 65 bhp to keep it relatively reliable. New exhaust, carbs, cams, valves, rod and big bore, seem to be the order of things planned, but as are most things in life, this will remain subject tyo chance as and when finances dictate Exclamation

As an aside, I fitted a pair of Bridgestone BT090's, and despite it being damp every since they were fitted, they really are sticky. Corners and bends I was recently a bit wary now hold no concerns.

The downside of the BT090? Wear seems to be quite quick-in 1,000kms of motorway and wet, I have noticed a small amount of "squaring off", although when it gets a bit drier, I will take the back roads home to even out the wear.
