i picked up my new helmet today- an Arai XD in black with a dark smoke shield.
I havent ridden with it yet since Sunny San Diego is wet, rainy and windy all weekend.
I like the "stormtrooper" look of the design and like it withouth the visor.
I also just ordered an Arai Tracker/GT helmet in black at a steal for $250.
I will write a review of the XD when i use it to ride to work-20 miles on the highway. _________________ matt maroon

So with the sun finally back in San Diego I was able to ride to work and get a quick test of the new helmet.
I ride south east to work so the visor and dark shield were definitely a plus. My round trip commute is roughly 40 miles total.
The helmet performed flawlessly. I didnt notice any bad turbulence from the visor unless i was doin 80plus. The shield and visor kept the sun out of my eyes perfectly.
The helmet was a little louder than my RX or Quantum was was not unbearable.
The fit and comfort was typical for arai. The change from clear to tinted shield took approximately 5 minutes. HAVE to use a screw driver to remove/change the shield.
Overall i would rate the helmet about 8.5 out of 10. Definitely worth the $400 i paid for the helmet and tinted shield together. _________________ matt maroon
