I am happy to find this site! I recently purchased my first street bike in a long time, a '99 Traveller, now planning to do some touring with my brother in N. California this summer. My bike has about 5K miles on the clock and aftermarket pipe and carb. I like most everything about it so far, except I am hitting Reserve at about 120 miles- not much for a touring bike. I am sure the big carb is a bit rich and does not help this problem. Does anybody make larger fuel tanks for the Skorpion models?
Also, looking over the other posts, I noted comments on inspections for the "smog" equipment. Here in WA we don't have bike inspections but I am concerned that the CA State Patrol might be more interested. Any advice? _________________ Ride on, Z |

welcome from here in wv
hope you like the bike
if you remove the smog stuff save it in case you later
start having state inspections or move to a state that does
it could be big$$$$ to replace later _________________ Dave 2002 MZ RT125+95 Saxon Tour in WV USA "I like the road less traveled if it's PAVED!."

Its nice to be welcomed. I'm in Burien. The Traveller is my only street bike, the rest: Bultaco Alpina (needs restro), Bultaco Frontera/Pursang hybrid (Post Vintage or Evolution racer) and a Suzuki RM100, also PV MX racer.
The original carbs/EPA stuff is long gone. Bike sold originally in PA. As I understand the history, the buyer moved it out here and sold it to a mechanic at Moto International, then an MZ dealer. I bought it from the mechanic. _________________ Ride on, Z |

His name is Micha (like "Meetcha"). As far as I know, he is still at Moto International.
Regarding the VME, I guess MZ is better known as a vintage marque. Most everything I have found on the web pertains to vintage 2-stroke racers. _________________ Ride on, Z |
