Ahhh Scared the crap out of myself last night on the 1000 sf.
Bombing along the M1 at 23.00 last night i tried to turn the throttle to find that it was frozen stiff. After some serious braking and a rest at a petrol station it defrosted. Very Very scary moment.

Question - my petrol cap is broken at the minute and is gaffer taped shut.
as written on a previous thread when i open her up sometimes the engine chokes and dosnt give its all, the next minute its fine. could this have anything to do with the petrol cap? i cant imagine it has but any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Could be a problem if you have taped over the vent in the cap mate.

Cheers

When I owned my SF i found that it would do this quite a lot (holding up) and could never get to the bottom of it.

sounds like some thing froze up in the throttle bodies
or cable

make sure that it has been lubed with a silicon oil that is rated for cold
WX and the fit and finish of parts is not making it bind in the cold WX

like an airplane bikes are not where you want the engine to fail
