Maybe a silly question: On the stock secondary cv carb, there is supposed to be an air intake hose on the top of the carb, when I look at the diagram I see
what appears to be either a filter or some sort of check valve inline with this hose..which is it? Filter or check valve? Is it necessary?
Thanks

pretty sure it is a check valve - not sure tho. I threw mine literally away so many years ago, I don't remember.
Whatever, it is not necessary.
Actually, the hose is supposed to stick in a hole in the airbox on the right side. Never does, tho. From this you can imagine how useless the airbox is beyond supporting an airfilter. On any Japanese 4 cylinder with tuned airbox and/or ramair, it must stick in the airbox for the thing to work at all.
Perhaps with the Skorpion, the hose and the intake snorkel on top are interdependent. I never tried. I did try various setups with and without snorkel but never conciuosly with the hose in that hole. I guess cause is never was in the hole to begin with...
Will try it out tomorrow with a client's Skorpion which still has the OEM carb and airbox.

Bill,
Thanks for the info...my Skorp has the hose disconnected..not even there
I was just wondering...seems it would be a good thing to filter the air going into the carb though...and I can understand why a check valve would be of use...let me know about your customers Skorp...
