If you have replaced your signals with something better--flexible stalk, maybe LEDs--I'd like to hear about it.
I broke a turn signal in a tipover. I can get an exact replacement from BSA-Regal, but the originals are so fragile and cheesy, I'd rather upgrade if I can afford it.
I I found out yesterday that the newer Triumph Speed Triple turn signals were an exact fit, and better quality...but at US$47.00, I was unwilling to replace all four. I was at the dealer with both the MZ and Triumph signals in hand, and I know they would fit. If you're feeling prosperous, go for it.
The Clear Alternatives lens upgrades *look* like they would fit the stock MZ...but that's just the lens and bulbs: http://clearalternatives.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=CA&Product_Code=CTS-0003&Category_Code=TRIUMPH.1
I am asking Phil at BSA Regal to see if he knows. His price is HALF what my local dealer can get, so if I end up with the stock, at least I'll get a decent deal.

I believe Triumph and Kawasaki sourced many of their parts from the same vendor. Perhaps they did the same with signals. If so, then you've got a great lead (no shortage of Ninja aftermarket parts out there!). _________________ Relax. You'll live longer. |

A couple of years ago, I bought an exact replacement turn signal for my Baghira at the Buell dealer for $5- a complete, new, turn signal, incredible price, the parts guy couldn't believe it. I think it was the Blast model. |

I bought some enduro signals that looked identical except they had a flexible stalk. I think they were Baja Designs. Got them from my local Honda dealer. Hope this helps out.

Drew,
Thanks, that's one more resource at my disposal.
Dave,
Go ahead and post those part # for the record. More than $30 would be too much for me...if they don't match, I'd have to replace all 4 to get a matching set.
DEmark and Kevin,
I checked out both Buell and Baja design signals, and it looked like the mounting was different, with the wires running through the mounting stud. Did you have to drill out the mounting holes on your bike?
BTW I replied yesterday and the post never showed up.

I definately did NOT do any drilling. I looked up the info I put on the MZOG site, it was a Buell Cyclone signal. |

I didn't have to change anything; However, I used them for the rear and I have a mastiff. I don't know if what you have is different.

Yes, the rear signals look like that, the fronts also, but the fronts are attached without the big nut. Its only $5 Paul, buy one and try it. Take the old one to the dealer with you and compare. I don't have part #s, I should have posted them but I didn't, that last link you posted has pn's that are probably right.
Let us know what you find. |

I have the turn signals. So far I haven't installed any. There are a couple problems:
1)The little peg on the base does not line up with the second hole in the bike. I can either cut it off or use washers to leave it enough space to clear.
2)The bike's wire harness will not fit through the stud. The bike's wires are sealed into a circuit module with potting compound, requring that they be cut in order to use the wiring that came with the signal.
3)There is not enough room inside the rear cowling for the mounting nut to turn. I have to spin the signal around instead, making accurate alignment difficult.
How did you guys deal with these fitment issues? Or, did your signals fit better out of the box?
BTW, they've gone up to $12-$15.00 each now. _________________ www.cnvc.org

The aftermarket turnsignals I have also gave me problems which required me to make a bracket (sort of cheap looking )out of a sheetmetal strap. Does anyone know of an exact fitting pair for the front (Baghira)? |
