The winter project up and running. Just a shack down run without body work and still using a stock motor.

MZ660 motor
Yamaha TZR250 frame
Later model TZR front forks
Yamaha FZR400SP front brakes
Ducati 620 rear wheel

The very first time my team mate ran the bike he took second in a four lap qualifier. Unfortunately when he went out to run Lightweight Superbike he crashed at speed. The bike cartwheeled backwards. The high flying crash did some damage that we are now fixing. Please see my add for parts wanted.

Very cool Jeffery!
You have an interesting set up there..funny,the way I came across my Skorpion is the guy I bought it from was planning a tz based single, and ran out of money.....
You have a couple of us wondering about your carb set up using the stock carbs..enlighten us please....!!1

I gave up the carb info to basser. I will make the time to post pictures and list parts as soon as my MZR660 is repaired. I am freaking out a little bit because the Yamaha TZR gas tank (1989) is totaled. I was relieved on the botton to make room for the MZ motor.

Like the thought process!! Who's 33's are you using?
On your 67hp motor,you are only doing the mods listed? I've heard
good things about the Jemco pipes, did John have to have your motor
and chassis to set them up, or did you just give him your application and
measurements to fit the Skorpion?

Any more info on the stock carb mods yet? Thanks for the pm Chip. What are these Jemco pipes being mentioned? Omrra is that the extent of your exhuast in above photo, or is the can not installed? I have the 42 single carb kit from BikeWorx , would like to try modified stock carbs before / if I convert to the TM42. Anyone modify CDI box to remove rev limiter ? sooo many questions , thanks , Mark

Thats all the info I have at the moment. Jeffrey is supposed to get some pics and part #s.
The "Jemco"pipes he speaks of are manufactured by Jemco in Houston TX.
Google "Jemco"...apparently very good quality at reasonable prices.
I would like to get some headers made that are a bit larger in diameter,
say about 1.5 in,(no larger).
The CDI from a TDM850 will work...there are several available,not sure which version is the "right one" for street use.
So ya got a TM42 from Galen eh? Supposed to be a good option...talk to bill jurgensen..he's got the skinny on that...
If our weather ever clears enough I'll run up to Mt Airy....is the Steel Mill
still behind McD's?

Sorry all. I love the direction the conversations are going. I just have my hands full fixing the MZR. Finally found a replacement gas tank. Thank you Mark Brown at GP Customs.

I got the Jemco Hand-me-down from Mark Macek at Corse Meccanica. He has been great to me and my team mate over the last few seasons.

Three things to keep in mind when dealing with Jemco. (1)The telephone is the extent of the technogy that the are currently using. (2)The kick stand mount must be ground off, so forget about Jemco on the street ride. (3)Finally, the picture I am posting shows mufflers on the bike. They are stamped Jemco. But John of Jemco has no recolection of building mufflers. I have a really trashed extra set that I could send Jemco to refresh thier memories. The extras are so trashed, well that all they are good for.

Good to hear your tank situation is resolved!
Those pipes look like Tim Barker's...guess there are a few differences,
I need my sidestand (center stand is missing)so a 2 into 1 is preferable.
If I knew someone in the header business it would help....when you get the chance we'd like to see those carb mod pics.

Yep , I have had the TM 42 setup since the fall , hesitating to install , "enjoying" altering stock setup first , see what it can do.Have the Dale Walker Holeshot jet kit in , adjusted the secondary to open immediately with the primary , like it so far. Yes the Steel Mill is still there , it might have changed names ?!......there is a Green Turtle now also , sounds good ,when this second winter ends . .......carb secrets omrra.......that exhuast looks like it can exhale , and with a very nice sound. 2 cans is the way to go . good thumpin' Mark

Mark,
I understand that cutting the spring in the secondary carb helps too. I think it needs a coil cut off. The secondary should come in "almost" immediately,but not quite as I have heard.
Yeah,lets hope this global warming is over soon...my bike runs like
dog.....right now,just waiting for a good day to clean the carbs and do
annual clean up...blah,blah....

if anyone ever builds a bike that will run with no wheels

he will not be able to run the factory fast enough to supply demand
even if its only 49cc

I can't even imagine how fun that would be. For the time being motorcycles are the closest thing to a magic flying carpet. That must be why we all a so vested in all things bikes.
