Hello all,
I just removed the hepco-becker hard bags from my '01 Skorp. I just don't need large bags. I am considering a tank bag. Any reccomendations?

The bags, mounting hardware and the turn signals, all in very good condition, are avaliable. I have attached pics of the bags on the bike and will post pics of the bags removed if anyone is interested. If interested make an offer. I won't give them away but will consider any reasonable offer. I believe new these things cost about 600.00 USD.

Dave,

I'm getting an '02 Skorpion Tour in a few weeks (my first bike, this should be entertaining), and I would be interested in a set of hard bags on it. How long have you had the bags, what condition are they in, and are they lockable/waterproof/etc? More pictures would be nice, as well.

BTW, where did you get the windshield, and how do you like it? I live in the Bay Area but I'm going to want to be able to take fairly long trips to LA every so often, and a decent windshield along with the bags would be useful.

Hi Michael,

Congrats on the choice of a Skorpion. I'm sure you will be "entertained" by the experience. If this is your first bike I highly recommend a MSF course and some experience before you ride the L.A. freeways. 'Nuff said.

I have owned bike since april '03. first owner installed bags and w/s.I do not know when she installed the bags.
The bags are in very good cond. They do have some scuff. You can see it in one of the pics. And it looks worse in the pic than in person.
Yes, lockable they lock and they lock to bike. Waterproof? well they have an O-ring seal and have stayed dry for me. I think Hepco & Becker would say they are "waterproof"
The w/s is a GIVI Roadstar. Again the first owner installed the it. I am not using it either. It looks good but I prefer the looks of the chrome instruments and headlamp
I will post close-ups of bags and windshield as soon as I borrow a digital.

I've passed the MSF and got my license. I've also been reading Proficient Motorcycling in my spare time, which should help. I hope. Confused Regardless, it'll be a few months of practice before I'm anywhere near ready to tackle the superslab down to L.A. For one thing, that much time in the saddle without training up to it... not good. (My uncle owns a cattle ranch, and I've done 6 hours on a horse without having ridden for two years, followed by two days of sheer pain. Don't really need that on a bike. )

I was hoping you'd been the one to install the windshield and luggage, but after looking at the vendor site, everything should fit well enough. Let me give it some thought (and get the actual bike in my hands, since it would be embarassing for something to go wrong and leave me with a perfectly nice set of saddle bags, with no bike to fit them to), and we'll talk price.
