Finally got fed up with my exhaust and I have tracked down a fabricator who is going to adapt it so that it rises like Boysies and the blue one above.. Its booked to be wth him after the 18thOct, so I should be able to put some pics up later that week.. Then its off the road and into the workshop ( some title for my scruffy garage )so hat I can strip the front end over the cold months |

What type of can do you have gedge? Maybe you can get a second midpipe made as a prototype? I think some MZ owners will line up for a decent priced midpipe. |

I have an oval stainless, can made by The carbon Can co in Blackpool UK.. Its road legal for the UK but still makes a nice noise and improves performance. I have a feeling thaht my man is going to 'Doctor 'my link pipe rather than make a new one.. I will have a word and let everyone know if he wants to do anything else...( hes a friend of a friend so I dont want to push my luck....._) |

BSm do a link pipe and sell them on there own. They bring the can up quite high (just below the standard indicators). Check out there web site for a picture.

|
|
BSM is a Dutch company and a nice (stainless?) mid-Y-pipe is available from them for around $175 US plus postage... (could be as much as another $40).
THEN if you watch ebay, a used GSXR or R1 slip on canister might be had for $100 or so, more for a real nice carbon one, less for scratched up alloy.

http://www.davidsilverspares.com/bsm/silencer.html
M4 will sell their mid-Y-pipe separately, but it's $280 from them. Might as well just order the whole pipe and canister, from what others have posted that's available for about $300 online.
Renegade just said "how many do you want? we'll build them". I have asked them for prices on a single can, and a dual can undertail system. They do nice work, and aren't too expensive. I'll get a price on a single canister mid-Y-pipe only as well. They need access to a bike, any UK Baghira riders willing?
Meanwhile, I'm going to see if BSM will sell me 3 mid-Y-pipes direct, for a price break. I figger one or two of you guys will want one, right?

Here is what Jorge at Renegade said when I asked if they could build single or dual canister slip-on systems for the MZ660 Baghira. I had an SV650 pipe from these guys and it was a nice exhaust, not as fancy as the big names but really very very good (and a bit cheaper since they do not sponsor a race team or buy big ads).
However I cannot say that these will be quieter than M4, only that they will make good HP, and I think Jorge will make sure the angle of the can looks good too.
<Ivan,
Our prices for the single start at £235 in
Stainless steel.
Best regards,
Jorge

<Ivan, we have a bike, no worries,
if you want a twin (dual canister) ,
no problem.
Best regards,
Jorge

Dave Silver Spares sell BSM parts, including the mid pipe alone. Be aware hoever that the BSM convertoer pipe does not take slip on cans as standard, but the connection to the can is via a flange with 3 fixing bolts. I have not checked but the fixing bolts appear to be the same as a Suzuki Bandit, so alternative silencers should be available. I will measure the fixings tomorrow and post them on this site.

Other bikes that use a bolt on flange are big Honda CBR929 and CBR 1000 and the Kawasaki 1300 Hayabusa. I think these flanges may all be the same size, I have seen them on a bunch of bikes. Getting a big canister would be good - so the big lungs of our MZ arent choked or too loud.. _________________ 2001 MZ Black Panther

Unfortunatly not all exhuast cans that have a flange fixing are the same, they can have different centres for the fixing bolts and I have seen both 3 and 4 bolt fixings. There should still be a seection of cans available for this connector pipe though, or it might be able to be modified to take a slip on type can.

Keith I cant find the link pipe pictured on BSMs web site.In any case I dont think it does what I want which is to rise at 45 degrees like Boysies and the blue one at the start of this thread. I am going to go with having mine altered as then I can have any 'slip on' can that I want .( although very happy with the Carbon can Co one i've got at the mo).
I only asked about renegade as if they are close enough I am more than happy for them to use my bike to aid their design , if there are customers who want pipes. I will look at their website and get some details from there. |
