Hi. Sorry to hear about your problem. I had exactly the same issue when I bought my new BP. I couldn't start it and that kick stand was giving me all sorts of problems. I would put it on a charger, charge it, take off riding only to have it stall at the next stop sign, then it wouldn't start. I pushed it home so many times that first week. The fix was so simple, I couldn't believe it. The moron who put the battery in (me) got confused by the Euro wiring. It's different from what we are used to seeing, red and black. Turns out b/c I put the leads on backwards, pos with neg and vise versa, I blew a fuse. I replaced the fuse, attached the battery correctly and has not given me a problem since. The kick stand issue was fixed by the new fuse and the new battery that originally came with the bike has been fantastic. I was busy last month and didn't get a chance to ride and it cranked immediately yesterday. Perhaps Mom and Pop at your dealer put the battery in wrong or you blew a fuse. Believe me, I was bitter just like you. There's nothing worse than getting a kick-ass bike, brand new and it does not want to play nice. This is the best bike I have even owned, it's the meanest looking and most reliable. Don't get discouraged, I would venture to bet it's something simple. Check the connection to the battery, check your fuses and find another dealer. They should not charge you for diagnostics on a new bike under warranty. You're right it's easier to buy a Jap bike due to the amount of dealers around, but seriously, the MZ is on a different level. Once you get it running and ride around town, you will never want to sell it. Good luck and don't give up, it's the best bike out there.

Dont sell yet. MZ's are very good bikes. So it might take a little work to find replacement parts, so what, do you want to be a carbon copy of everybody else out there? Be different and when you beat up on the other brands it puts a big smile on your face.
