as i was sitting in my cubicle, wrapping up the remainig work minutes before heading out, the rate at which friends, co-workers acquainatnces, and total strangers would peek over the partitions or drop by and say a few words was steadily increasing.
all with varying degrees of affection and warmth would wish happy new year to me and each other, offer their wellwishing and promices to 'see you next year.'
yeah, simple and 'cheap,' artificial celebrations, big deal, just another year...?
what ever.
in a tiny little bit it made me feel good inside, for no particular reason.
as people kept coming through it dawned on me, that in life most genuine things in life will not be pleasant or uplifting, natures wrath, accidents, aggression from fellow humans.. so what if all holidays are artificial and most dont make any logical sense, or are rooted in false pretenses of empty causes. leave that analysis for the cynics, if it makes them happy to ridicule things.
for these few instances, a good whole bunch people can actually come together in their celebratory spirit and make a noticeable bit of time in their lives gratifying. and in good spirit have the push needed to do something that otherwise they wouldnt have or feel the inspiration to. even if most of that does not amount to anything, just the feeling of willingness and determionation makes a life feel a little bit more satisfying.
so to all the friends i love, and to those i havent met yet, and/or never will,
may you all have a happy day celebrating.
may you reflect on the year passing and recollect all the things youve done and that have happened to you. keep the good things and reflect on how much richer they have made your life thus far.
screen through the bad things and reflect on what have taught you lives lessons, and you survived through only to have more experience and insight to deal with in the future.
hey, you are still here. game is not yet over.
enjoy the time out; gather your strength; attend to your loved ones; and when the time comes, jump back into the wirlwind of life, and continue to enjoy the ride, that you are - even if only partially on a grander scale - in control over.
happy new year

JUST THOUGHT I WOULD COMMENT ON THIS EXCELLENT SITE AND NOTE THAT EDUCATION IS SPREADING THROUGH THE WORLD AS IS EVIDENT BY THE INCREASING MEMBERSHIP, OR AS PUT IN THE USED BIKE PRICE MAGAZINE . THE MZ BADGE MIGHT NOT BE THE MOST POPULOR AT THE MOMENT, BUT IT IS HEADING THE SAME WAY AS SKODA.''' ? DOES THIS MEAN THAT WE ARE TO LOOSE OUR INDIVIDUALTY GOOD MILES TO ALL CHEERS JIM. |

I hope not, the local police forces in my part of the UK have started using Skoda as unmarked traffic cars, complete with internal speed cameras and number plate recognition technology.
