i purchased a used 2001 black panther today. It has 5120 on the clock. I am lookin to do some mods to the bike.
First order of business is orderin a M4 exhaust in titanium. Was wondering how you get the pipe tucked up high and tight on the frame?
Also like my monster i will do some sort of taillight mod to the bike. I am lookin for suggestions/examples?
Anyone have an aftermarket parts catalog from MZ? Is there a list of interchangeable parts with other mz?with yamaha?
thanks _________________ matt maroon

I have the Ti M4 on my bike and love it...
as to the mounting, with the bracketry included with the pipe, it was nice and tight against the frame.....and also pointed directly at my right rear turn signal! I tried unbending the bracket a bit, but it didnt get it low enough, so I solved this issue by re-using one of the exhaust hangers from the stock system (along with the M4 brackets) to reposition the can a bit lower
hope this helps _________________ Hella Yella, coming ta getcha! |

glad to hear about the Ti M4 pipe. I love the titanium full system i have on my Tuono.
I picked the bike up tonite and brought it home. It feels like im sittin on TOP of the bike and am NOT part of the bike. Is that normal?
Those stock bars are uncomfortable definitely want to switch out to something a little more comfortable.
It didnt come with an owners manual. I want to adjust the height on the wp shock. Is the higher the number raising or lowering the height?
What is up with the cheap paint on the bodywork? The bike has numerous spots where it is flaking off. _________________ matt maroon

the ride height is adjusted by changing the spring pre-load on the shock.
the knob with the numbers is for dampening adjustments. both compression and re-bound are adjustable.
start by setting the rear suspension sag at about 100mm (dif. between completely extended like on a stand, to you sitting on the bike upright. measure from the axle to a point on the fender as close to directly above the axle as possible)
you don't really want to lower the bike much with pre-load, as the handling will start to get funny. if ti is too tall, lower it with dog bones.
PM me and I will help you more. _________________ 2001 MZ Black Panther
