what size are the stock bars?clamps? I dont like the feel or look of the stock bars. i would like to get something more in the size/shape of the bars on my Tuono or even some magura bars like my S4R.

Maybe those will help so i dont feel like im ridin ON TOP of the bike.

Hi

The standard handlebars are, as with most bikes 7/8 of an inch. If you want to fit lager diameter handlebars you will need to fit larger handlebar clamps. These should ba avaibale from a motor cycle shop that sells the larger bars. Be aware though that the bars you purchase will have to be able to accept 7/8 switchgear etc. Taper bars seem to be favorite.

Hated the Stock bars on the bike....Ditched them immediately!

Here is my $11.50 "quickie mod"

Remove Old bars and chunk em...
Buy a set of standard 7/8" Diameter drag bars.
Remove Clamps from top of tree and Turn arround shimming with Fender washers. The washers sit between the top of the tree and the bottom of the riser clamps, you only need about 3/8" max rise.
Install the Drag Bars and realize why you had to shim the riser clamps. (the bars miss the top of the fork tubes by 1/16").
Mark and drill holes for your controls.
Reroute the cables so as noting is binding or crimped.

Ye- haw, there you go!! Cheap and it gives you a nice riding position.

I have pics if your interested in seeing this for yourself.

The future goal for this project mz is to custom machine a top tree that
has mounts built in for carbon fiber handlebar tubes....Way freekin sweet!

I ordered some X-5 bars in cr-lo in black they are 7/8" so dont have to worry about the different risers right now.
