I assume you are talking Gel batteries, if so, they are great. I have one in my Moto Guzzi, KLR, Concours, and will order one soon for the MZ. You put them in and never hear from them again. The one in my KLR is mounted on its side and you can mount them upside down if needed. The 'Guzzi is on it's side as well.
I prefer the Odyessy brand. They have a great website...maybe 60-80 bucks for a battery. On my touring bikes I use all the electric heated gear, GPS, driving lamps, etc and never have a problem. Never would with lead/acid either but you have to check the fluid and I am not Mr. Maint. guy.

Yes, I'd love to get my hands on a gel battery.

Anyone got the who and where for how much?

This project demands a battery that could be laid on its
side without causing problems.

Take your stock batt. to any motorcycle dealer and tell them you want a gel batt equivalant. The one I got is a Yuasa. The next time I have the seat off I'll look at the size/part number. It's not as tall as the stock one so I just placed a piece of foam under it. I know the one from my Silverwing scooter is a perfect match but not in stock and $175! Paid $68 for the one I got.

Re sealed batteries. If you live in Portmounth, try BSA Regal, they should be able to help. Either that or Ray Dentith Motor cycles in Purbrook. Ray is not an MZ dealer anymore, but his knowledge is pretty good on these bikes.

Ray terminatd his MZ dealership in mid 2004. Apperently he did not sell many MZ;s from his shop as the prices were getting to close to the opposition. In the UK the 125 is abourt the same price as a Honda 125 and the new MZ1000 price is about the same as the Honda VFR800.
He was also fed up with the lack of support and advertising placed by MZ in the UK.

btw: A lot of german Baghira-Riders use the "Hawker SBS 8" battery. Some shops sell the battery for about 85 Euro. It sounds expensive, but the battery is good for a long, long life (at least 10 years!).

I do not have access to a catalog at the moment but if any of you go to a motorcycle shop (or work in one) you can go check out the dimensions and setup of every motorcycle battery in the Yuasa Master Catalog.
You can then compare the sealed vs. non-selaed battey dimensions and post placements .

Just get on the Oddessy web site. I think you can buy direct and they have all the info and crossover stuff.

I e-mailed Odyssey, and they never got back to me as to an application for a Baggi......I figure they either have too much business already, and don't need more, or they just don't have anyone aswering e-mails!.......Either way I am still VERY interested in a sealed batt., and was wondering if anyone can share the make, and model # of one for a Baggi. that can be purchased in the states? Thanks!
