I just took my 01 Panther out on the open road and got it at the top of 5th and it started hiccuping at about 70-75, and continued as long as I was up there, about every 3-4 seconds, like a hesitation. It almost sounded like it was misfiring... does anyone know what this might be? I went through a few tanks of gas, so it wasn't bad gas. I have a Vampire exhaust and Twinair filter, but otherwise stock. Anybody else have these issues, or any ideas? _________________ What I want is what I've not got... what I need is all around me |

Battery fully charged? Sounds funny, but it can and will make wierd
stuff happen....rule out the simple problems first. I had a 90 hawk gt
and it would run wierd, hesitant/misfiring riding with a large crosswind, turned out to be a vent hose...wierd shit.
my .02 cents may not have helped here, but replys fun to get on a slow board....
rule these out, gas or fire, its got to be one of those things.... _________________ Kelly

Mine does so on occassion as well...feels weird. My guess is that it's the clutch grabbing a bit, since mine only seems to do it when I'm running hard and fast. _________________ Ride wha'cha got and quit listening to those nattering na-bobs of negativity who say you can't ride cross-country on 'that bike'.

Battery may be low... it was out when I got it from the previous owner a few weeks back... I'll check that first. I was thinking it could be the fuel filter too- like it could take flow at normal RPMs, but couldn't quite handle the full open throttle flow needed.
who knows- not that often I'll have it sitting up there at 75, so maybe I'll just live with it... _________________ What I want is what I've not got... what I need is all around me |
