Call me a rookie... I should know this, but I've yet to really flip thru my handy dandy MZ owners manual, nor do I have it with me right now. ...but, what is involved in changing the oil filter? ..or do I even HAVE an oil filter? I thought I saw it listed somewhere that you remove an oil "screen" and clean?? I just crossed 1000km recently, and I saw it's time for a oil change. Someone gimmie the basics.

If I need an oil filter, were do I get it? An MZ dealer?

this is not what you should do....this is just what works for me

i change the oil filter once every 2 oil changes....(1 oil change is 2500km)
filter's on the righthand side...it reads oil filter Laughing

after draining the oil...there is a "metal screen" like thing that's in that very hole...grab it with your finger...clean it put it back in...

you may notice that there's another valve next to the drain valve which uses an allen key....this is a magnet valve...it collects metal particles....pop it out...wipe it clean...pop it back in...(you should do this, new engine, more crap Laughing )

may not be perfect but this is what i do....

and yeah, any MZ dealer should have them filters Smile

...and while we're at it, do these oil filters cross reference with anything else? When I owned a Skorpion, I had lots of options available for the 660cc Yamaha engine. ...but the 125?
