Hello All-
I just came across the board and wanted to say hi. My name is Dan and I used to post hop up articles on the old MZ board which were called "the Black Panther Project". In a nutshell, my 2000 BP has been taken completely apart and rebuilt with a ton of mods to the engine (headers, pipe, ignition, carbs, bore kit) with some help from Bernd at Tunebike. Needlesss to say, this Panther roars! I have also put a tach, Pro-Taper bars, and Scotts Steering Dampner on the bike, as well as a few other mods. On the old MZ site, I used to get a lot of questions about these mods, but once the site was taken down, I pretty much lost touch with everyone. However, now that I have found this site, I am glad to be back and am more than willing to answer any questions you may have about this great bike.
Glad to be back,
Dan-

I'm new to the Baghira game myself, but welcome anyway. Cool bike.
What kind of power increase did you get with your mods?

My Panther has the complete Stage 2 kit from Tunebike in it which I believe dyno'd in somewhere around 65+ hp. The bike runs VERY strong and has no problem lifting the front end if you whack the throttle open. It is really amazing how much stronger you can make these motors as they tend to be very tame when left stock.
Dave-
Now that you mention it, I remember dealing with Stacy B. when she ran the site as that is who i used to send my articles to. I also remember being able to buy parts directly from Damien Esmond before he moved on. I just hope that the new MZ leadership gets the ship back on course as MZ really does make a great product.
