I'm a proud owner of a baghira BP for over two years now, she's looking a tad tatty, used every day rain or shine. . .but IMHO better than riding any of the UJM's !
Glad to be here

What sort of mileage do you get with your Baghira and what does fuel cost in the UK these days?

I get about 55 to the gallon, ( if you go steady.. )
unleaded is about £4.10p a gallon, $7.44
good job the fuel tanks dont hold much then. . . . .

The worst MPG I have obtained, including going on a track was 39mpg. The best has been 61 mpg taking it easy in the rain, commuting to work.

Welcome Ed
Where abouts in the UK are you? Us Baggi owners seem to be flung far and wide.
Never bettered 50 mpg on either my Baggi or Sport-42mpg being the norm, but thats probably how I ride that is the cause of that low figure!

Hyup,
I am just up the road from matlock bath in derbyshire. . .
How long have you had your MZ's ?
I've had my baggy since 2001, bought from a local MZ dealer (2nd hand)
Ive recently been scraping the road salt off after abusing it for a few years commuting. Not done any engine mods bar aftermarket exhaust and carb jetting mods.... but still great fun to ride in the "going to work TT"

Had both my MZ's just over a year-bought another Sport as a project, but too much to do to it, so just having that motor tuned, and selling off the rest.
When up in Penrith (on an organised Supermoto weekend-see the supermoto section on www.Visordown.com), met up by chance with a bloke on a T plate Baggi-thats's the oldest I have seen. Paintwork was a bit worse for wear, but he rode it all year round. Went well too, but he obviously knew the roads.
The worst thig about mine is the rims-rode all through the winter, 600 miles per week, and while the rest of the bike is still good, the rims have gone all pockmarked white, and no amount of polishing will resore them to their former glory.
Powder coating seems the only way out! That will teach me to wash the bike down THOROUGHLY after riding it on salted roads!

just had my rims powder coated and stainless spokes fitted. . .
Learnt a lot doing this. .
firstly to take out half the spokes on one side then the other, then back to the first side and so on, other wise you can twist the rims (oops, bit too handy with the angle grinder )
got the rims coated at a local coaters who does all sorts, did a good job but coated the inside too and the wheel builder told me the spoke nipples will settle in the coating over time and will need tightening. . .
got the hubs coated too, I remembered to tell the coater which faces are bearing faces cos the blasting is a bit viscous !
looks good built up but the coating seems a bit thick to me and we had to drill out the spoke holes after coating to get the nipples thro' so weather protection is compromised
my local MZ dealer laced the rims up for me using hagon stainless spokes
fairly pleased with the overall result
(apparantly the new MZ's come with anodised rims now)
