I would like to replace the 'old school' style clocks on my Mastiff with something a little more discrete!

Has anyone fitted a digital speedo/ revcounter to thier Baggy or Mastiff? I would like one that still has idiot lights and a proper backlight, and was thinking about using a unit from something like a DR-Z400S or a Husky SM610.

Has anyone got any experience or ideas along these lines?

I tried a bicycle speedo, but the forks weretoo think for the sender unit!

I´ve also been looking at the clocks from things like scooters on ebay.

Not found anything yet that looks cool enough yet - but I´m still looking!

I know you guys are all over the world, but in the US there is a store called Cycle Gear that sells an enduro oriented gauge for US$77. Surely that is available elsewhere also. Good luck and happy hunting.

Phlat, do they make a fitting kit for the Baggy, or did you adapt one from another bike?

I have a trailtech unot fitted to my Baggi as well. The kit I used was for a Suzuki DRZ400. Only because it came with it though.

I have the trailtech speedo/computer. I like it, but have two complaints- it's not backlit, and it's overpriced. I found this today, http://www.mtbr.com/reviews/Computer/product_87497.shtml
looks the same at half the price.

Demark

Trailtech are to put a new version of this unit on the market soon. And its backlit so should be real good. The back light is supplied from your bikes electrics to maximise battery life to . From what I can gather they have ommitted the service reminders though.

An update -
I've managed to get myself an 'Acumen PD8' programmable LED tacho (series of LEDs light up to give you an indication of engine speed) for the grand total of £25 off ebay. I'll let you know how I get on with it...
I've just got to get a speedo now

A further update -
I decided to get a combined speedo/ revcounter instead of two separate units. I bought mine from Bandit Mania (Suzuki Bandit specialists in the UK).

For £75 I got a backlit LCD unit which can display speed (switchable between MPH or KPH) two trip counters, total mileage (not resetable) ride timer, clock and a rev counter which is a 'bar type' display, and can also be displayed in numeric values instead of one of the timer/ trip sub-displays. It's 'E' marked, and should be fine for the UK MOT test.
It was pretty straight forward to fit, and even you Baggy owners without revcounters should be able to wire it up to show revs (the Mastiff already has a signal wire for it's revcounter).

Too early to tell how durable it is yet, but I'll try and post some pics of it on the bike later this week Cool

Here's a pic (if it works!!)

The engine is not running, so the revs are zero, but you get the general idea. Also, please excuse the idiot lights which are temporarliy ziptied to the speedo mount. I should have spend the extra money to get the speedo with built in idiot lights I guess!
