I am looking for information on this mz bike pictured here.

It belongs to a friend of mine whome I only see once a year. Where he is located it is very hard to come by any parts etc. I was thinking of getting him some spark plugs or something else for his bike.

Please give me your suggestions etc. I have no idea what year or model etc. I am not a motorcycle guy.

Thanks

Chris

hello

if he lives some where that its hard to get stuff
try this company
Mz uk parts supplyer
here is the parts guy
phil@bsa-regal.co.uk
he works for the english parts seller in the UK
www.bsa-regal.co.uk

they sent me stuff in 5 days from order ...via gb post and usa mail

and he can do it on your charge card
by phone or email
also look at www.mz-b.de
they have parts for it and also complete replacement electrical systems
in ori 6volt or upgrade to 12volts
ar dave
it looks like its in good shape tell him to treat it nice and it will serve him
for many years
if the chain is covered it still needs to be cleaned and greased
at least once a year

I knew someone would have something funny to say about the fish.

I am in Canada and hoping to find some spark plugs for the guy.
He washes it every day and babys that thing as it is his only way to travel.

The fish was quite the catch. got it at about 80' with spear guns. took several spears and finally a knife to the head to kill it. but it fed the whole village Smile

So if I go somewhere and say that I want sparkplugs for a ETZ 250, 1981-1988 will they be able to give me what I need or do I need to be more specific?

Sparking plugs for ETZ:
Isolator ZM 14 - 260 or Bosch W4 AC, Bosch W4 AP, Beru 14-4 A 2, Beru 14-4 AD, Champion L-5, Champion L-4 G, Champion L-78, Champion L-78C, NGK B7 HS, NGK B8 HS, AC 42, KLG F 80, Pal N9, Marelli CW8 N, Nippon Denso W 22 FS, Motorcraft AE l, Iskra F80, Bosna F 80, Bakony F 80, Lodge 3HN, Marchal345, Marchal 4N, USSR A 23, A 26

I prefer Isolator(made by Beru)... it's the best sparking plug for the 2-stroke Mz.

Hope it helps!

BTW: I own a ETZ 250 too. So.. if you have questions... let me know!

Where was the photo taken? It looks like Cuba!?

Excellent deduction. lol

It is indeed Cuba

What about the headlight? Not sure how that would travel but looking for other things he might need.

Hi Chris!
I have good connections to a shop for MZ-parts. But I think the shipping costs to Canada or Cuba are quite expensive. Maybe more expensive than the parts. In general it's possible to get many parts for the old MZ's in Germany. Especially consumable parts are mostly available.

You asked about the headlight. The reflector for example cost about 30 Euro, without shipping costs.

Scheffi

Tell your friend he should close the fuel cock if he doesn't use the motorcycle. Laughing Wink
