IF YOU ARE IN THE USA THIS IS ADDRESSED TO YOU
The sale of an MZ or any bike at this time in the USA is a problem
Don’t expect to get a lot of money out of it.
The best thing to do is keep it and ride it
Or just give it to a friend or relative in need of a daily driver
And move on..
if you need to sell ...advertise post it here (Please only in the for sale section)
Post it on www.cycletrader.. post it on Craig’s list in your area
Post it on the post board at local dealers
And hang in there please don’t parts it out unless it is wrecked OR not complete
The real way to get your money out of it is use it not sell it
The sell problem is best summed up this way
Gary k has a tour for sale I would love to have one
Problem money my pay last year $22,000 down $3,000 from 2 years
Ago (60%cut in extra bus runs) and still paying bills from last years HEART ATTACK
And every thing I buy up by at least 15% in the last 3 years
Yes you’re having trouble selling your toys
The people that make 3 times what I do can not afford them either
Ar Dave
(Steps down off the SOAP BOX)
PS give the economy a real boost keep the old bikes and make more dealers
Go belly up
most often the best one in town dies first leaving us to deal with

where
I went down to the shop to buy a tire for the stepsons bike
it was priced almost $30 usd more than it was last august
so we had to bring it home and put it on our selves so he could afford it
who got hurt the mechanic at the shop if on commision
the dealer got his markup
i have seen 6 bikes here local and one on this web site that were in driveable shape sold as parts
because they did not sell as whole bikes even
when priced well below a fair price for them
i am 60 years old and the cash flow problems threw my pocket are
worse than any time in my life ....even when i was a kid with no allowance
like it says at the bottom (steps down from the soap box)
the state i live in just let the natural gas company have a rate increase
my price for this item alone has more than doubled in the last 8 years
and this state is # 14 among large producers behind TX1 and OK2

I understand what you are saying Dave. The best way to get your moneys worth out of your MZ is ride it till it is broke. I got 47000 miles out of the skorpion. Then bought a new Baghira. I plan on riding this bike till it dies too. After 40 or 50 thousand miles, you have got your moneys worth out of a $5000 motorcycle.
Now if you are a KTM owner, and paid 10 to 12 thousand and the motor grenades at 5k, maybe you ought to sell....... |

Have had my current Sport for 18 months now- has 37,000 miles on it, and goes really well (great bike for £850).
Bought another for spares with 78,000 on it-engine stripped to tune it. Builder (Steve Ruth, former Supermono champ and expert on the 660 motor) said that everything was well within tolerance limits, and had no qualms about putting in a 102 piston kit, etc. Waiting to plumb it into the Sport.
My Baggi has done 12,000 now-only problem being salt marked rims (but then i did ride it through all last winter without cleaning it ) _________________ Becoming A Track Day Addict. Baggi Well On The Way To Completion. Well, One DAy Closer................ |
