I have posted some piccies of some of the bikes, besides MZ that use the new 4 valve Yamaha 660 engine and a picture of the Yahama XTZ660 which is the bike MZ uses the engine unit from, see
http://www.mzriders.com/album_personal.php?user_id=66
This is for those, mainly states side, that may not have seen these bikes before. I would have posted pictures of the Yamaha 50cc and 125cc motots, as well as the SRZ660, but run out of room on my gallery Sad

One of my work friends owns one of the new 660 engined Yamahas and it seems OK. About the same engine power etc. It also looks like it will fit in teh MZ frame.
Dont see it as a bad engine myself, but saying that there's nothing wrong with the 5 valve engine either.
The new Yam is an infeior bike in other ways, non adjustable front suspension, no adjustable damping on the rear shock and the front mudgaurd styling is even worse then the one fitted t the MZ Smile

Just posted a picture of the Yamaha SZR660 and the XTX125. Both unavalable in the USA I think.

The "Motorrad", a big bike magazine had made a 50.000km test with the XT 660. The qualitiy of the frame was bad, rust at some places and the engine has a constant jerking when you drive. The suspension sucks too, just to soft.

Also the engine has the same problem with the synchronisation of balance shaft and crank shaft. The screw nut on the crank shaft is loosing and then a small adaptor donīt fit right and the shafts crashes together. If you donīt fix it, your engine breaks soon.

Yamaha had this problem since they produced the XT 550 (1982 O_o).

Im my opinion, the "new" engine isnīt working better than the Baghiraīs.
