I live just outside Portsmouth England and I have just bought a new MZ baghira SM. I have just completed the first 1000kms , and so far the bike has been everything I hoped .... Except , the seat is soooo hard!!!!! Is it just me ? Has anyone found a mod / replacement that is more friendly?

Thanks for the support ( no pun intended!).
met a guy in my dealer this morning who recommended a firm in Bognor UK who had modified the seat on his Baghira, but when I rang them they refused to touch it because the others they had done asked to have them put back to OE spec........fraid I will have to keep suffering and looking around....

I live just north of Basingstoke and have had by (underpowered) Baghira for just over two years and 35000kms. I dont think the seats to bad. If you want to try a hard seat sit on a KTM, CCM or other motard.
Also for ride outs try this site

www.solentsupermotards.co.uk

The members of this web based club organise run outs between them. Members live generally live in the south of England, from Southampton to Reading as a rough guide. It would be nice to meet another motard owner. BTW where did you get your bike from. Ray Dentith is giving up his francise and had a black bahira and a red Mastiff for sale at £3750 each inc all charges and taxes. Still with warentee as well.

Keith. I live about a mile from Ray Dentith and picked up mine from him for the same price ( £3750)..

I saw him today and have now bought an old Baghira seat off him , which I am going to get re-covered by a cousin who is an upholsterer. I will let everyone know if he makes a success of it..

Thanks for the link I will check it out.. As you live up near Basingstoke , do you do the Lord derby ? I haven't been up there since my colleagues started tightening up on policing, but I may go along for the next meet.

It would be nice to meet other owners and get some tuning tips etc..

Yes I do got to the Lord Derby montly meet. Depeding on the mood and wether I have to take a passenger depends on what bike I take. Either my Yellow Baghira, pale blue 1500 gold wing, or if I am feeling real pissed of my 1100 gold wing enduro bike.
Let me know the colour of your bike and I will keep an eye open for you.
Wnt to the derby last month, loads of cops on bikes, in cars and others walking around. Also they have restricted the parking quite a bit (mainly to stop spectators in cars I think) but did'nt seem to be stopping many bikes.
If you decide to go call me on the number I pm'ed you and we can meet up.
As for Ray Dentith, mention my name and watch his eyes roll Razz

Keith

the nice thing about a rich's seat is he will shape it for you with a gel insert, let you ride it, and re shape until you are happy!! worth every penny.. sat on a BMW 650 the other day, could sit in that seat for a week...

It all depends on what you do with the motorcycle. My interest is adventure touring so comfort is paramount, and the Russell Day long saddle works great. I think the ugly thing somehow fits the already bizarre looks of the Baghira also.

I also have a stock saddle to put on it when we have that "backing it in / wheelie contest <g>. I was thinking about it, it's going to have to be on video, on dry tacky surface (do you have any dry tacky surfaces out in Seattle? Very Happy

You obviously will have an advantage in the wheelie contest with the HR model with the short swingarm, but I still think I can beat you Wink
