Oh thanks a lot. You think I might be able to call that number and have my pipes replaced ? That would be cool. I'll try this Monday. Smile

You need tyo phone MZ in germany and ask to speak to Mandy, idealy you need a MZ dealer/representative to do it for you. All you need is chassi number and that will let them no the age, your more likely to get new pipes if its happened to someone else.

Hi Perryboy

One question : did you notice any rust on the exhaust manifold before the exhaust blew ?

I currently look at a used SF to buy at interesting price but the manifold does not seem in a good shape (due to the fact that the bike stays outside at night according to the seller)

French MZ distributor confirm me the price of 630 € for the manifold so...

see pix of the bike attached

would be grateful if you can answer me
Many thanks in advance

just had the same problem with coils @ 10.5k miles. No problem with pipes, all put right by local dealer (Bob Wildings) for no charge and they lent me a bike. Problem is the front mudguard design - short with 2 cut out sections on the rear edges. I am making a splash shield to fit in front of coils for protection.

No there was no rust before the exhaust blew.
there is now though-the metal has obviously reacted with the heat. My bike was coughing and spluttering from the exhausts again a few weeks back. I took it in and left it for a few days the diagnostics machine came up with no errors, spoke to yet another contact in germany who explained no engine fault light and no faults on diagnostics machine = no problems.
if I open the throttle up ill hit 80mph in say 4 gear and the bike will judder as if petrol is not pulling through.
