PostPosted: Sun Jul 09, 2006 11:34 pm    Post subject: New Supertrapp pipe Reply with quote

I just purchased a new Supertrapp pipe from Galen at Bikeworx. I also installed a K & N air filter at the same time, so, I can't say which added the performance. There was a definate, if only slight, improvement in performance. Mostly, I noticed a slight improvement in throttle response and it runs much smoother at lower RPM's. What I really like about the Supertrapp is that it is tune-able. It has a number of discs at the outlet. The more discs you stack up, the larger and louder the opening, giving a higher top end. The fewer discs, the better the low end torque, but still a nice sound. My gas mileage has dropped a little, but that is mainly because I have been riding much more aggresively since the installation. I also purchased a jet kit, but have not yet installed it because I am having too much fun riding!! The finish was a little on the cheap side, compared to my brother's Muzzy carbon, but at $259, what do you want.....you get what you pay for.
