sounds about right 25mph faster than i ever run a bike so
you can stop for a pop and i will show up about the same time
because the WV cops will delay you on I 68 as you escape from MD

Think it is set to 7800 rpm.

Yamaha TDM850 CDi is a straight replacement, and lets the engine rev to 8400 rpm. Popular, if not the essential mod on Supermoo racers. Engine can easily cope with the extra 600rpm without reliability being affected.

Thanks for responses , howdy w.va. neighbor , MZ s must be fun in them hills. This thumper got some legs in top cog , the xtra rpms would be nice for very spirited riding in lower gears . I do not think the TDM 850 was imported stateside...will check ebay though. Ran it up slowly in 4th gear to limiter , tach behaved better , saw 100mph before limiter and then tach went funky. Mity Mouse , I vintaged MXed the B 50 MX at Tomahawk in Hedgesville and Mountaineer in... off I81. Ime not nuts , I just like Thumpers

if you have any experince with old time 125cc street bikes
from the 50's and 60's you will understand
why i nick named the RT 125 MIGHTY MOUSE after riding one a few miles
this is NOT my dad's 125
my friends made fun of the peanut as they called it till i went down a
road here that make Deal's Gap NC look like a super highway
and they could not keep up ...if it had the power of my saxon tour
it would need to be listed as a registered Weapon.....
ps
it is not for sale or trade Very Happy

and its been 78 miles today just running errands

and at least 20 more as i run out to the ham radio field day site and back

and almost 13000 miles in 4 years july 23 is 4 years so will make 13000
in 4years

I have always wondered about Mzs 125. That is impressive numbers [milage], sounds like good riding keeping the 125 on full boil . Out of curiosity , no measuring stick intended , what is the top speed of "Mighty Mouse", slight downhill grade allowed of course Exclamation

in stock gearing 16x49 i saw 80 on the speedo
but i set it up as 16x52 and it does 70mph flat out on the level

speed limits here local are 55mph except for the interstate
so it does better climbing hills and overall use getting beween 62 to sometimes 70mpg

and put your fingers in your ears if it ever blows up you will hear it over at your place in MD
and hard hat required as it is turning 9,750 rpm at 65mph and i run it that hard
some times when i go to PA to a motorcycle meet in New Bethlem PA
225 miles in about 5..6 hours aug.. this year will be time number 4 for it

i use i79 from MARS PA down south to rt22/30 west to Stubenville ohio
about 90 miles with rpm about 10,200 to 10300 ouch
and i have not popped the cork yet drafting a truck is an art ..
as if your back to far you loose draft and in to close and it sucks you into the rev limiter at 10,500rpm
like i said its MIGHTY MOUSE
i had a yamaha ya6 santa barbra in 1965 and worked it over and i think
this 4 stroker is just as fast or faster than it and does not foul plugs
if some one in your area gets dumb and sells a 125SM pick it up and play
with it a while and i think you will like it
the only thing i ever had that was more fun was
a red headed Girl friend
ar dave

Hello everyone, (My first post.) Okay, I've spent a good bit of time on the Dyno with my MZ roadracer. Stock redline is 7400. Don't trust the bowncy stock tach. Trust the Dyno. I would not be suprised at all to see a serios drop off on the power curve after about 6750. So if a bike is relatively stock your revving the motor hard for little to no return. Finally I'd like to say that I also switched to the TDM rev box. I had to do some extra wiring work to get my aftermarket Tach to recieve the signal.
