Hi, just experienced an problem with my carburetor. I have an RT 125 purchased in Aug of 2004 new. this January the bike started to cut out at stops and low rpm so I adjusted the idle and figured that it was a bigger issue as it seemed to continue despite tuning the carburetor further. It turned out though that the choke was sticking on a bit even with it apparently shut off. The plunger and cable into the carb were rusted... !! I mean i am good about lubing cables etc but this was almost brand new... anyway after a great deal of lubing and working it free its now fine...
anyone else experienced this? It just seemed a bit strnage to have an issue like that so soon.
Also I am fitting a 150 kit any advice? _________________ ptong |

hi
never had a carb cable problem
but the clutch cable on mine seemed to strech a lot till it was about 2 years old
please note there are 2 adjustment points on the clutch one at the
lever and one inside the engine details on adjustment on request
also rember at 70mpg this carb is passing very tiny
amounts of gas to the motor so dirty gas will be noticed
very quickly be carefull where you buy gas
as for the 150cc kit i plan on doing one on mine when the piston
and rings go i will use the 150cc kit as my overhaul parts
this will reduce total cost over the life of the bike

I had this carb problem with my 660SM. Easy to fix though.
