Any one got any more information on fitting these to a baghira? Seem to be a reasonable price to pick up a pair.

I remember reading someone did it but no more info other than that it worked & very well! I presume I would need rubber boots also from raptor both from airbox and to head? Is it a major job? Would I need to rejet them? Am I crazy? Rolling Eyes

Thanks!

The raptor carbs fit!

You need a different connection from airbox to carb, because the raptor carb is shorter than the original teikei.

If you can understand german oder have a good dictionary, look at www.mz-baghira.de (search for "Raptor Vergaser" or "Mikuni BST 33")

One or two guys are driving this carb.

Thanks CM,

Tried the site- even registered but its making my head ache (Embarassed) translating with my exceptionally limited German & babel fish online translation!

Doesnt sound like a big job to make an extension from carb to the standard connecter, but isnt one of our standard carbs diameter smaller?

Just like to know if its worth the effort & expense for the gain. Im sure I'll get them on somehow! I have the carb & header kit from tunebike.de and would like to be able to afford the stage one kit but these look like like a more realistic option for me!

Thought about fitting the complete head and carb assembly to my MZ and still might if I can get the parts for the right money. This should mean that the engine limiter could be saflly changed to one that allows the engine to rev highr as I understand the limiting factor for this is the valve gear.
Could be wrong though

Keith

The guy who drives with the BST means that the Baghi is a lot more spontaneous.

If you need the gauges of the different manifolds I can ask him also for the size of the main jet and so on.....

I would try it with the BST 33......but I still have my nice Mikuni flat slide Twisted Evil

Here is my little help for some german - english and english - german questions Wink

Or ask in the Baghi Forum, they will help you as far as possible!

As I understand it, the Raptor manifold fits perfectly. Also, you'd
probably need to fabricate a battery box if you use pod filters.
I am curious about the throttle linkage set up...any thoughts?

For the Baghi, you need a distance piece to the airbox because the carb is shorter than the original Teikei. Everything else fit.

The MZ is more spontaneous on the gas and gets more power.

I have a Mikuni flat slide, not the raptor carb.

If you need more precise infos, ask at www.mz-baghira.de ....they understand you if you write on english Razz

The Mikuni TM34 B65 is a double carb, two 34mm carbs....

If you drive one carb you need a TM42 or something similar...maybe 41....I donīt know....

The tm34b65 is hard to locate here in the states, Most people who change the carbs are running Keihin FCR's 35mm(usually)and they are pricey.
I may just try the Raptor carbs .

I got a question, does the Mikuni TM34 B65 have an accellerator pump? Did it fit up pretty well?

How about the Rapter carbs, do they have an accellerator pump?

Jep, TM34 has a accelerator pump. If you hold the carb in you hands and turn the gas, you can see a little fuel rey coming out of the jets in each carb.

When the Baghi is out and I turn on the gas for some times, I have problems to start her, but after a few tryings she runs again Wink Sometimes the spark breaks in fact of too much fuel....but if you got the clue, itīs no problem....if not.....hm....

The Keihin is good too, I guess but heīs maybe a little bit too (1mm bigger than TM34) big for a normal engine. With a normal engine and the TM34B65 (it also exist a TM34B70 and bigger) is very spontaneous, maybe to spontaneous because some guys donīt like the carb on a standart motor....When heīs tuned, the carb can show his ful potencial Wink

The Raptor carb is an impulse carb (in german "Gleichdruckvergaser") and has no accelerate pump.
